If you’ve heard of any AI tool, you’ve probably heard of ChatGPT and for good reason. This is probably one of my favorite AIs out there. ChatGPT is set up to accomplish a wide range of tasks, which makes this easy to use and very beneficial for users.

Pros:

  • Can accomplish a wide variety of tasks including:
    • Answering questions
    • Generating text copy
    • Translating languages
    • Generating conversations
    • Summarizing written copy
    • Generating code
    • Content development
  • Speeds up content development
  • Easy to manipulate and use

Cons:

  • Large language model that can take time to learn how to manipulate
  • At the time of writing this, it is only able to retrieve data from prior to 2021
  • Not always 100% accurate

How you can use ChatGPT to benefit your law firm:

  • From concept to creation ChatGPT can help you develop a title for your blog or FAQ topic and then proceed to help you fully write out the page. Additionally you can use ChatGPT to help you with any written content you may need to create, whether it’s a simple email or web page. This is one of the first AI platforms I ever tried out and while it was good, it was no match for ChatGPT. Jasper is primarily intended for content development, while ChatGPT is meant for a wide variety of tasks. Additionally, Jasper requires more heavy lifting than ChatGPT in my opinion. 

Pros:

  • Content generation can be easy with their blog builder. You can plug in keywords and it will help you create a title, include keywords, and even get you started on your blog piece.
  • Helps you get through writer’s block
  • Copy translation into other languages
  • Produces plagiarism free content.

Cons:

  • Isn’t human.
  • Output can be repetitive, doesn’t always make sense, and usually needs additional editing.

  • Relatively new, still working out kinks.
  • Limited abilities.

After seeing SEO expert, Jake Ward’s success with Byword, we had to test this platform out for ourselves. Byword is super easy to use and great for generating batches of content. However, this content doesn’t read as easily as what we’ve seen ChatGPT produce. Additionally, it isn’t as easy of a platform to manipulate.

Pros:

  • Integrated with WordPress.

Cons:

  • Content can be dry.
  • Content still needs to be edited and optimized.
